Who We Are

Our company was formed in 2019 by our Managing Director, Peter McLellan, who has more than 30 years’ experience in senior operational and general management roles, across the private and public sector. 

​

An experienced and self-motivated business leader, Operations Director and MBA, Peter has an extensive track record in a range of infrastructure sectors including Rail, Utilities, Highways and general civil engineering including construction and maintenance of a range of infrastructure assets.


Experienced in business planning and strategic development, business development, bidding, service delivery, construction and the commercial management of a variety of projects and term contracts for Network Rail, Local Authorities, Highways Agency, Utility Companies and private clients.

We have a number of Associates from different business disciplines and sectors which enables us to offer a broad range of management consultancy and advice.

CONSULTANCY SERVICES

  • Strategic Planning
    Every organisation needs a clear long-term vision and associated objectives for all its stakeholders to understand and identify ‘what success looks like’ in terms of tangible outcomes. Planning the journey in terms of the medium-term strategies and short-term actions required to achieve the long-term vision is essential. This is where we can help by facilitating and supporting the production of an effective business plan that provides the ‘route map’ that sets out the journey - in a way that everyone involved can engage with.
  • Growth + Expansion
    For many new and established businesses to succeed they will need to grow their revenues, their customer base, their geographical coverage or the breadth of the services or products they offer. We can help develop a strategy for growth, whether that be organic or through acquisition, and we can assist in developing customer engagement strategies.
  • Change Management
    It’s an old adage that the only thing that’s certain in business is that change will happen – continuously! Change in the market or customer base, change in law or regulation, change in key stakeholders, change in ownership, change to the business model, change in processes or IT systems, change in key staff or leadership…and so on. Some of this change is internally driven, perhaps to drive performance improvement; and much of it externally driven, requiring the organisation to respond. That may sound obvious and straightforward, but sometimes when you are deeply involved in leading an organisation, you can’t easily see the real underlying causes of poor performance, or the alternative approaches and solutions that others might see. We can offer an independent view and can support and facilitate the process of recovery in a way that suits you and your team.

    We have many years collective experience in operational management and leadership in both private and public sector organisations. Combined with other disciplines such as HR, commercial management, performance management and lean improvement, this puts us in a strong position to address and support the resolution of operational challenges or poor performance in any part of a commercial business or public sector organisation. We like to couple this support with implementing ongoing performance management and continuous improvement processes as a legacy to our involvement.

    It is undoubtedly true that good teamwork and collaboration can significantly improve performance – the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Effective collaboration maximises the potential of any group of people or stakeholders. However, for whatever reason, this can be challenging inside many organisations, let alone (for example) between businesses and organisations looking to deliver large and complex projects together for mutual benefit. We have many years’ experience of working in a variety of strategic partnerships, joint ventures and alliances – experience we can share and use to support or facilitate collaborative working within your team, department, business unit or wider organisation - and with your external partners.

    Organisations and businesses have many stakeholders, whether they be customers, employees, shareholders, the local community, suppliers, partners, commentators, industry bodies, local authorities.…and so on. Success will come more easily if your stakeholders are engaged and informed of developments that are directly or indirectly relevant to them and their interests are protected. This must be a proactive process to maximise the chances of retaining and developing stakeholders as advocates of your business or organisation - and thereby maximising your opportunities for positive promotion. We can help you to identify your internal and external stakeholders, develop an effective Stakeholder Management Plan and implement that plan over time.

I’ve worked with Peter at Project Board level on a major infrastructure project being conducted as an Alliance. Peter demonstrated the true values of alliancing,  including the behavioural principles of best for project, good faith, shared risk / rewards and where appropriate agree to disagree,  but would look for solutions to archive unanimous decisions.

Over a period of time we reflected on our joint experience of working together on major projects , both within an Alliance and a traditional design and build environment,  which clearly demonstrated the benefits of the Designer being part of the Alliance to achieve common goals with equitable shares in the pain gain mechanism.
